If you enjoy sightseeing and wildlife, this is the perfect place for families to visit and watch the little penguins march in their natural habitat! 2. Puffing Billy in Mount Dandenong
A great way to spend your day is taking a historic steam train ride through the lush forests of Mount Dandenong. It’s a very scenic and fun journey for both children and adults! You can add other activities into your day such as feeding the colourful native birds, visiting a sculpture garden, and engaging your visual senses in the many view spots in the region!

3. Sovereign Hill
Step back into the 1850’s as you enter Sovereign Hill. Explore the many historic buildings in the old gold mining town and partake in some fun activities such as panning for gold! There are many activities to do here that will entertain your whole family!

4. Enchanted Maze, Mornington Peninsula
Have some fun in the Mornington Peninsula and visit an award-winning maze garden known as Enchanted Maze. There are many interactive mazes for both kids and adults! There’s also zip-lining for those who love a bit of adventure and a high ropes course for children, teens, and adults to do!
Mix this day up by visiting Moonlit Sanctuary (a wildlife sanctuary) and the Dairy or Strawberry Farm!

5. Kangaroo-spotting in the wild!
If you’re up for a unique adventure, we highly recommend visiting kangaroos in the wild! It’s so exciting to see these beautiful animals interacting in their natural habitat. They often live in mobs in grassy areas in the countryside. We know of an excellent area where you can see many of them! You can also incorporate this day by mixing it up and visiting Healesville Sanctuary, an excellent wildlife sanctuary in the Yarra Valley! End your day by visiting the Dairy and Chocolate Factory!
